Declaration of 3-personal income tax: currently valid forms

The declaration for a specific year must be submitted in the form that was in force at that time. The same rule applies to filing an amended tax return.
For example, if a taxpayer wants to file a tax return in Form 3-NDFL for 2015, then he needs to use the declaration form that was in force in 2015.

As a general rule, the 3rd personal income tax declaration is submitted on time - no later than April 30 of the current year for the income of the previous year that is subject to declaration. If April 30 falls on a weekend, then the filing deadline is extended to the next working day.

When filling out a 3-personal income tax return for a tax refund, the filing deadline is not limited to any date in the current year. In other words, you have the right to submit such a declaration whenever you want, but no later than three years. For example, in 2019 you can submit 3-NDFL for 2018, 2017 and 2016 to receive tax deductions - a tax refund.

Declaration forms change periodically, but the composition, by and large, remains the same.

3rd personal income tax declarations until 2019 (for 2017 and earlier):

  • Title page - general information about the individual is indicated: full name, passport details, address of the place of registration (stay), TIN and other data.
    It should be noted that individuals who are not individual entrepreneurs, having entered their TIN, have the right not to indicate passport data.
    The TIN can be found on the official website of the tax office.
  • Section 1 and Section 2 - serve to calculate the tax base, the amount of tax at different tax rates, the amount of tax to be paid/additional/refunded from the budget.
  • Sheets A, B, C, D, D1, D2, E1, E2, G, Z, I - are filled out only as needed. For example, they reflect the following indicators:
    - income generated from activities both in Russia and abroad;
    - income of individual entrepreneurs;
    - income that is not subject to income tax;
    - sheets for calculating standard, social, property and professional tax deductions, etc.

Thus, there is no need to fill out all 19 sheets. Only the first 3 and plus additional ones are filled out depending on the purpose of preparing the declaration.

3-NDFL declarations from 2019 (for 2018 and later):

The total number of sheets from 20 over the past years has decreased to 13. The letter names of the sheets have also changed to “Appendix 1, 2, 3...”

3 Personal Income Tax - a program designed to fill out and submit the appropriate tax return to government authorities. It provides convenient forms for generating documentation, and can also automatically check them and identify errors. This is the official software released by the Federal Tax Service for taxpayers.

Filling out the declaration

The generation of documentation in program 3 personal income tax occurs in a step-by-step mode. The user is offered a convenient form in which it is necessary to indicate general information about the taxpayer, OKTMO, inspection number, adjustment number and a list of documents to confirm the accuracy of the specified data.

All of the above information should be specified in the "Setting Conditions" section. After working with it is completed, you can proceed to filling out the data about the declarant: full name, tax identification number, date of birth, place of birth, series and number of passport (with date of issue) and contact information. The next step is to fill out the form for income received in the Russian Federation. Please note that in the 2017 version of the program, information on income in foreign currencies must be filled out separately.

The last stage of filling out the 3rd personal income tax declaration involves submitting data on social, property and standard deductions. You can also indicate investment partnerships and other special information in the document.

Benefits of the program

Key Features

  • is official software from the Federal Tax Service;
  • offers convenient forms for creating a declaration;
  • contains detailed supporting documentation;
  • can check the correctness of filling in automatic mode;
  • fully translated into Russian and has an intuitive interface;
  • distributed completely free of charge.

Of course, it is most convenient to fill out 3-NDFL in your personal account. This way, you will not only avoid technical errors, but you will also be able to immediately send the report to the inspectorate, signing it with an electronic signature, which can be obtained there, in the personal account. The signature generation process takes about 30 minutes and there is no need to go anywhere.

But if you have not yet acquired a personal account and are going to submit a printed version of the declaration, it is more convenient not to enter data into a template or form found on the Internet (we have it on our website), but to use special software. The best option is the Federal Tax Service “Declaration” program, which can be downloaded for free on the service’s website. It allows you to fill out a report and print it. All you have to do is sign an autograph, attach supporting documents, and you can go to the tax office.
